Installation Instructions: Numbers and Letters
All Peninsula House Numbers custom numbers and letters come with a print out of installation instructions, and your installation template. We've also detailed them below if you're wanting to get prepared - or if your instructions have gone missing.
Commercial, multi-storey and elevated installations
Our numbers are supplied for installation by you or your installer. We don't install, inspect sites or assess walls. If your numbers are going on a commercial building, a multi-storey facade, above head height, or over a footpath, entry or other public area:
- Use a qualified tradesperson, and follow site safety and working-at-heights requirements.
- Your installer is responsible for confirming that the fixing method and adhesive suit the wall, the height, the exposure and the weight of the numbers. The rods, spacers and adhesive we supply are designed for typical residential installations.
- For numbers mounted above head height, use the threaded rods at every fixing point. Don't rely on adhesive or tape alone.
- Follow the adhesive manufacturer's instructions for temperature, cure time and load, and don't install in the rain. Adhesives have a maximum service temperature, so on sun-exposed walls, especially with dark finishes, choose one rated for the temperatures the wall surface reaches.
- Check the numbers are secure once installed, and include them in the building's routine maintenance inspections.
Approximate weight per character (the heaviest character in our heaviest font, in 8mm solid aluminium; most characters are lighter):
- 100mm: 140 g
- 150mm: 310 g
- 200mm: 550 g
- 300mm: 1.25 kg
- 400mm: 2.2 kg
Each threaded rod and spacer adds less than 10 g. For sizes larger than 400mm, ask us for weights with your quote.
